James D. Brackett ’58 , D.M.D., died October 8, 2025, in Georges Mills, New Hampshire. Jim grew up in Waltham, Massachusetts, and graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy.
Frederick G. Coggin IV ’58 , Tu’59, died on August 29, 2025, in Evanston, Illinois. Skip will be remembered for living out his father’s advice to accentuate the positive, not the negative.
Coleman P. Colla ’58 , Th’59, passed away in Los Angeles on September 3, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia and grew up in nearby Haverford, Pennsylvania, and Buffalo, New York, where he graduated from the Nichols School.
Charles H. Cowperthwaite ’58 died on December 31. “Kit” was born in Denver and lived most of his life there. At Dartmouth he majored in English, was vice president of Kappa Sig, and was active with the ski patrol and DOC.
Mahdi A. El-Baghdadi ’58 , Ph.D., passed away on October 28, 2025. Mahdi came to Dartmouth from Kadhimain, Iraq. He majored in international relations and was active with the Cosmopolitan Club and Arab Students Organization.
Bevan M. French ’58 , Ph.D., died May 10, 2025, in Bethesda, Maryland. Bev grew up in Nutley, New Jersey, majored in geology, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He was active in the Geological Society, The Dartmouth, and Glee Club.
David L. Hoffman ’58 , Tu’59, died on March 11 at his home in Stamford, Connecticut. Dave grew up in Orange, New Jersey, and came to Dartmouth from Newark Academy.
Stuart A. Kornfeld ’58 , M.D., passed away August 17, 2025, from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was a professor emeritus of medicine at Washington University in St.
Richard M. Lenio ’58 passed away November 14, 2025. Dick grew up in Rome, New York, and lived most of his adult life about 100 miles west of there, in Pittsford and East Rochester.
Charles J. Neff Jr. ’58 , Tu’59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21 in Durham, North Carolina. Chuck was born and grew up in Canfield, Ohio, where he was president of his high school student council.
Raymond P. Robbins ’58 died on October 31, 2025. Ray was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, and grew up in nearby Hopkinton. He majored in chemistry, graduating Phi Beta Kappa, and was a member of Theta Delta Chi.
