Charles J. Neff Jr. ’58 , Tu’59, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 21 in Durham, North Carolina. Chuck was born and grew up in Canfield, Ohio, where he was president of his high school student council. At Dartmouth he majored in economics and was a College lifeguard and swim instructor. He completed his M.B.A. at Tuck School as a married student. Chuck’s entire career was with Ernst & Young, in Cleveland for the first 20 years and then in Richmond, Virginia, until he retired as an audit partner in 1995. He and Mary later moved to North Carolina, where he enjoyed his garden, which was alive with birdfeeders and mums, his favorite flower. Chuck was president of his local alumni club in the 1970s and later volunteered for the alumni fund for several years. He is survived by his brother, Jim ’59, and Mary, his wife of 68 years, plus two sons, two daughters, 10 grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
