J.R. “Dick” MacDonald ’51 died at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 11, 2010. His wife, Vivian, passed away 10 weeks later. He is survived by three daughters, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

J.R. “Dick” MacDonald ’51 died at his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on April 11, 2010. His wife, Vivian, passed away 10 weeks later. He is survived by three daughters, 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
George H. Marshall Jr. ’51 died May 5, 2010, at his home in Dallas after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Pat, three children and five grandchildren. George came to Dartmouth from Highland Park, Michigan.
Robert T. Byall ’51 died in Rocky River, Ohio, on May 24 from complications related to his 10-year struggle with Parkinson’s disease. His wife, Mitzi, predeceased him. He is survived by four children and six grandchildren.
Marc A. Wyse ’48, who was living in Beachwood, Ohio, died July 2.
Charles W. Thorne ’48 died on May 25 at the Hospice House in Vero Beach, Florida. “Bud” graduated from Trenton (New Jersey) High School in 1944 and Dartmouth in 1948, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and Sphinx.
Charles C. Randolph III ’48, who was living in Solana Beach, California, died May 10 from Parkinson’s disease.
Thomas Patrick Donnelly ’48 died peacefully on July 18 in Kissimmee, Florida.
Jerry E. Reed ’47 of Denver died on June 8. He grew up in Denver, graduated from East High School and entered college. He graduated from the University of Denver.
Edward Carshore Matthews ’47, M.D., died March 17 of cancer in Damariscotta, Maine, where he had practiced pediatrics and pediatric cardiology since 1971.
Norman Dorf Friedlander ’47 of Greenlawn, New York, died on June 2. He grew up in New York City, attended Columbia Grammar School and entered college as a civilian.
