Superfine Style

Renowned cultural scholar Monica L. Miller guest curated the Costume Institute’s spring 2025 exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, which opens May 10. “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” explores the importance of style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora and takes inspiration from Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. Ahead of the 2025 Met Gala, Miller moderated a panel discussion to preview the exhibition, as reported in Vogue.
