George Edward Richardson ’63 died February 24 while skiing in Zermatt, Switzerland. He lived in Lynnfield, Massachusetts, where he had been born and raised.
David Cotter Rainey Jr. ’63 of Allentown, Pennsylvania, died November 14, 2009, at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township after a three-year battle with cancer.
Michael Roy Marantz ’63 of Jamaica, Vermont, died January 25 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Lloyd Cymrot ’63 died April 7, 2010. He lived in Novato, California, and suffered from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease). Lloyd was born on Long Island, New York, and lived in Brooklyn.
Ellison L. Torbert ’62 of Black Mountain, North Carolina, near Asheville, died on December 15, 2009, following brief hospitalization due to a stroke.
Philemon Cheverton Roy Jr. ’62, M.D., of St. Mary’s Point in Lakeland, Minnesota, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on January 30 after a long journey with Alzheimer’s disease.

Robert Hamilton Reid ’60 died unexpectedly on November 27, 2010, at his home in Wilmette, Illinois. Bob came to Dartmouth from Rye (New York) High School. In College he was a member of Sigma Chi and was the junior varsity football manager.
David Lee Lawrence ’59 passed away on March 4 in Waterford, Michigan. He entered Dartmouth from Great Falls (Montana) High School. At Dartmouth Dave played freshman football and was active in a range of intramural sports.
William Conrad Gumble ’59 died on February 9 at the Hospice Community Center in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. His wife, JoAnne, predeceased him in April 2010.
