News is in short supply. This is written toward the end of a chilly April for publication in the heat of summer. Dave Squire mentioned proudly that his granddaughter graduates this June with the class of 2011.

This will be my last column for Dartmouth Alumni Magazine. I am resigning as the editor of the Class Notes. I’ll stay on as secretary and treasurer until the 65th has come and gone.
Word has been received, via Harry Hampton, that the “More—or—Less” annual mini-reunion of the ’45 snowbirds turned out the following on March 13 at the Venice (Florida) Golf and Country Club: Peter Beck and Nancy
Since news from classmates has been sparse, we decided to cast a larger net by emailing approximately 30 classmates not heard from recently. We hoped we would land a few live ones, but apparently we need new bait.
Count your blessings! Our class had 659 members, including transfers. Sixty-eight years later (scary) 166 of us remain (plus an few who have lost contact with the College). Of the 487 who have died, 23 lost their lives in WW II.
It is spring on the calendar, not in the atmosphere. When you read this we will probably be in the middle of a heat wave.
Maybe if the long snowy winter is really gone, things will become more lively up here and I will have some news to report other than more sad notes of the loss of more classmates.

King Vanderburg ’38 asked me to tell Lynn Ryder, wife of Rem, that 75 years ago he attended St. Paul’s school in Garden City, Long Island, along with Rem, who drove to school in a nifty Dodge roadster.
