“It’s Rachel Dratch here. Just having read the last ’88 notes about our classmates’ kids headed off to Dartmouth, I must share my news from the slower track—that I gave birth to a son, Eli, in August.
By the time you all are reading this, it will be less than a year until our 25th class reunion, scheduled for June 14-17, 2012. It won’t be the same if you aren’t there, so mark your calendars now and plan to attend.
This is the last article before our 25th reunion. In fact, you might be there now, and if you are, I hope you are having fun. Many people offered tidbits from their reunion page as scoop for this column.
Thinking of column themes is tough. The challenge of weaving together common topics from amongst various classmate updates is so difficult, so daunting, so laden with potential pitfalls, it is best left to trained professionals.
As I write this Jan is busily preparing for her annual trip to the Napa Valley, California, to celebrate her grandmother’s birthday—this year will be her 98th!

It’s hard to believe that five years have passed since our 25th reunion when I took on this role of co-secretary with Abner Oakes.
In 1996 we held a family reunion at the Greenbrier, a gracious old resort in West Virginia’s Allegheny Mountains. Our visit came shortly after the Washington Post exposed a decades-old secret.
