Athan G. Mertis ’57 of Saint Louis, Missouri, passed away on September 25, 2019. “Mert” graduated from St. Louis Country Day School.

C. Richard Welsh ’57 passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on June 29 in the mountain community he loved, Park City, Utah.

Henry J. McCourt Jr. ’60 passed away peacefully at his home in Brockton, Massachusetts, on February 19. He was the husband of Carmella (Capozzoli) for 61 years.

Theodore F. Rochow ’62 of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away June 26 in Brooksville, Florida.

Alan Davidson III ’63, M.D., died on June 26 in Colfax, North Carolina. He came from a Dartmouth family.

James F. Davies ’63 passed away peacefully on June 21. He was born in East Rochester, New York, and graduated from East Rochester High School. At Dartmouth Jim received an A.B.

Peter R. Akley ’65 passed away on May 1 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, of complications from Covid-19. Peter came to Dartmouth from Lyndonville (Vermont) Academy in Lyndonville.

David Oesterheld ’65 of Naples, Florida, died on June 9. Born in New Rochelle, New York, he came to Dartmouth from Owensburg, Kentucky.

Donald Christian Hansen ’67 of Oceanside, California, died on April 9. He came to the College from Livingston, New Jersey, majored in economics, and was a brother of Alpha Theta.

Lewis Edward Hitchner ’67 of Sandy, Utah, died on June 18 after a short battle with kidney cancer.
