Sidney Harold Widrow ’53 died October 26, 2009. Sid majored in chemistry-zoology and was a Rufus Choate Scholar.
H. Elton Clark ’53 died on September 9, 2009, of Parkinson’s disease in Glendale, California. At Dartmouth he majored in mathematics and government and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Following a commission in the U.S.
Norman Douglas Cassel ’53 died on October 10, 2009, at his home in Vineyard Haven, Massachusetts. Doug entered Dartmouth from the Principia Upper School, where he was an accomplished three-sport athlete.
Robert Alan Derzon ’53, Tu’55, died on June 16, 2009. Bob was a national leader in delivering better healthcare.
Dan Charles Dutcher ’53 died on June 27, 2009, of cancer that had metastasized to his liver. Dan came to Dartmouth from Iowa City (Iowa) High School, where he was an accomplished athlete, writer and dramatist.
Phillip Myron Elbert ’53 died unexpectedly on August 11, 2009, in the Oak Park (Illinois) Hospital. Phil came to Dartmouth from Proviso Township High School, then living in Maywood, Illinois.
