H. Elton Clark ’53
H. Elton Clark ’53 died on September 9, 2009, of Parkinson’s disease in Glendale, California. At Dartmouth he majored in mathematics and government and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Following a commission in the U.S. Navy and service on two destroyers sailing from Istanbul to Hong Kong, he took an M.B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley and married Dona Ames, who would go on to earn her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. From that point on he spent 30 years in banking with banks that ultimately became part of Wells Fargo. Throughout his life he maintained an interest in the philosophy of organization, which he brought to bear on his banking assignments. Elton was a very popular member of this class, which will never be the same without him.
