Thomas L. Green ’58 died in Florida on October 16, 2020, after a long illness. Tom came to Dartmouth from Shaker Heights, Ohio, and moved to Miami in 1962.

George R. Hammel ’58 passed away on October 18, 2021. He grew up in Scarsdale, New York, and came to Hanover after having served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Peter A. Heegaard ’58 passed away January 15 in Minneapolis. Pete was an economics major, a 3-2 Tuck student, a brother at Alpha Delta, and in the Army ROTC program.

Glower W. Jones ’58 died at his home in Blue Ridge, Georgia, on January 27, 2021.

Eugene K. Laff ’58 died on January 9, 2020. Originally from Baltimore, Gene majored in economics and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

James J. Meeker ’58 passed away at his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on January 24, 2021.

July-August 2022

John E. Mehl ’58 passed away April 25, 2021, after a long illness. He grew up in the Pittsburgh area, majored in history, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa.

Arthur H. Nissman ’58 died November 28, 2021. Records are incomplete, but it appears that Arthur did not graduate with our class. He lived in Topanga Canyon, California.

Robert E. Pendergast ’58 passed away on February 16, 2021, of lung cancer. Butch was a Delta Kappa Epsilon brother, majored in geology, and became a career geologist.

Gerald M. Polin ’58, M.D., died May 21, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease.
