Glower W. Jones ’58
Glower W. Jones ’58 died at his home in Blue Ridge, Georgia, on January 27, 2021. He was a true Southern gentleman who demonstrated in both his professional career as an attorney and his personal life as a volunteer the high ethics that won the respect of all he encountered. Glower came to Dartmouth as a son of Atlanta, became a Phi Delt, majored in economics, and returned to Georgia to earn his J.D. at Emory University, after which he dove into the legal community of Atlanta and distinguished himself in construction law and related arbitration. In retirement he traded his pinstripes for flannel shirts and khakis (still perfectly pressed) as he tooled around the nearby mountain roads in his not always reliable Jeep. Glower worked with the same tireless energy he devoted to his Atlanta area charitable interests as a Dartmouth class agent for decades. He and wife Joanna were fixtures at reunions, where their Southern charm was always on full display. Glower included an epochal saying in The Journey Continues: “As you travel the road of life, may wisdom be your map, wonder your fuel, and good memories your favorite souvenir.”
