Peter A. Heegaard ’58

Peter A. Heegaard ’58 passed away January 15 in Minneapolis. Pete was an economics major, a 3-2 Tuck student, a brother at Alpha Delta, and in the Army ROTC program. In 1958 he married Anne Mintener, his high school sweetheart and a Skidmore graduate. Pete said, “Coping with...the more colorful brothers at the AD house prepared her for the social and political challenges of the past 50 years.” After Tuck Pete worked as an investment analyst at a Minneapolis bank and later founded an investment advisory subsidiary. He retired in 1996 to immerse himself in social justice nonprofits seeking to improve housing, education, health, and job opportunities for disadvantaged people. He created a program to school more than 500 young professionals in urban problems and their potential solutions. Pete was also a dedicated fly fisherman and the class agent for Tuck annual giving. Anne survives him, along with two daughters, one son, and eight grandchildren.
