W. Grafton Berger ’58, a long-time resident of Tucson, Arizona, died March 18. Grafton was born and raised in Albuquerque.

Peter W. Crane ’58, a career pilot for the U.S. Navy and Northwest Airlines, died on March 28 in Arizona.

Calvin R. Dyer ’58, Ph.D., died February 9 in Tennessee. Cal grew up in Westbrook, Maine. At Dartmouth he majored in economics and was a brother at Gamma Delt.

James Michael Engels ’58 passed away on April 9 in Rutland, Vermont. Jim was born in Salt Lake City and grew up in San Bernardino, California.

Philip K. Livingston ’58—adventurer, Marine, and lifelong aviator “forever lured by the excitement of the unknown”—died March 20 in Alaska.

John R. Sherwood III ’58, an urban planner and competitive sailor, died of complications of a stroke on April 12 at his residence in Annapolis, Maryland.

David S. Stevens ’58 passed away on February 25. Dave entered Dartmouth from East Chicago, Indiana.

Nathaniel H. Yohalem ’58 passed away on June 6. Nat grew up in Westchester County, New York, where he was a high school track star.

John H. Hicks ’63 died unexpectedly on June 22 from previously undiagnosed pancreatic cancer.

Stephan R. Swirsky ’63 died on August 7 of rapid-onset systemic infection. He was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and attended James Hillhouse High School.
