Class Notes
View All Notes for Class of 2014As wide receiver for the Florida Avengers, Lauren Kelly has been named to the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) All-Pro Team and played in the conference’s Pro Bowl for the second consecutive year in June. Two former members of the Dartmouth athletics staff were also recognized by the WNFC, and Lauren writes that their “presence on this national stage is not only a personal milestone but a powerful statement for the next generation of girls who dream of playing football, coaching at the highest level, or leading in the sports world. This moment also honors the legacy of the late Buddy Teevens, whose inclusive approach to building programs helped open doors that women continue to walk through and widen for others.”
Josh Cyphers and his wife, Christine, welcomed their first child, Graham Judah, on May 2. After finishing his master’s in nursing last year, Josh started as a family nurse practitioner at Dartmouth Hitchcock, while Christine is an event planner for Geisel Medical School.
Fischer Yan writes, “I’ve spent the last 10 years, first in San Francisco and now in Los Angeles, working with top-tier venture capital firms, tech giants, and startup clients. Presently I am expanding my growth advising firm Fischer Foundry. When I’m not at my desk I am performing Cirque du Soleil-style aerial acrobatics on the festival circuit, including at Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, and Burning Man.”
Horacio Romero Castillo started his residency in otolaryngology (head and neck surgery) at the Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York and is looking forward to the arrival of a baby girl in late August.
Jimmy Johnson writes in, “Currently I am living in Andover, Massachusetts, where both my wife and I grew up. We are blessed with two wonderful children, Wesley and Morgan, and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of our third child in August.” Jimmy is currently working as a sales representative at the Eaton Corp., selling electrical products to contractors, distributors, and engineers across New England. He also finds time to play pickup basketball several times a week in Boston and to volunteer as a football coach for the local middle school, for which he was recently awarded Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Youth Coach of the Year. Jimmy adds, “Coaching is a passion that keeps me connected to football, a sport I dearly love, while also providing mentorship to the youth. My kids enjoy coming to practice with me, adding extra joy to the experience. A few times a year I make the trip up to Dartmouth to attend football games or other sporting events. It’s always a delight to visit the campus, see the changes, and reminisce about the old stomping grounds. I hope everyone is doing well. Go Big Green!”
Finally, an update from Alex (Della Pia) Hampson, who since graduating has completed her doctor of pharmacy and M.B.A. at Fairleigh Dickinson University as well as a two-year residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she specialized in oncology pharmacy. She writes, “I currently work as a medical writer at the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack, New Jersey, where I help clinicians develop clinical trial protocols for cancer patients and publish their research results. I married my husband, Kyle, on November 1, 2024, and we went to Japan for our honeymoon. We closed on our first home together in January and are expecting our first child in December!”
