Donald Joseph Rochon ’59 died on June 20 in Bellingham, Washington, after a battle with cancer. Don entered Dartmouth from Carson City (Nevada) High School.
Norman Frank Swanson ’59 died on January 15 at his home in Westford, Massachusetts. Norm came to Dartmouth from Rutland (Vermont) High School. At Dartmouth Norm was a member of Zeta Psi, where he was the treasurer.
William Conrad Gumble ’59 died on February 9 at the Hospice Community Center in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. His wife, JoAnne, predeceased him in April 2010.
David Lee Lawrence ’59 passed away on March 4 in Waterford, Michigan. He entered Dartmouth from Great Falls (Montana) High School. At Dartmouth Dave played freshman football and was active in a range of intramural sports.
John Dodge Haynes ’59 passed away on February 21, 2007, in Ridgeville, South Carolina. We will remember John as WDCR’s chief announcer in our sophomore and junior years.
Robert Truman Perron ’59 died on October 21, 2010, in Branford, Connecticut. While at Dartmouth Bob played in the band and was a member of the Human Rights Society and LaGragnier Francaise.

Don Schofield Peterson ’59 died April 28 in Tucson, Arizona, after a battle with cancer. Don entered Dartmouth from Madison (Wisconsin) West High School and was a National Honor Society member.
Richard William Walker Jr. ’59 died on December 12, 2009. He came to Dartmouth from Omaha, Nebraska, and Shattuck School and, according to his family, left after his freshman or sophomore year. He resided in 203 Topliff Hall his freshman year.
James Douglas Wilson ’59 passed away on March 5 in Evanston, Illinois. Jim entered our class from the Mount Hermon School (now Northfield Mount Hermon) in Northfield, Massachusetts. He resided in 3 Fayerweather Hall his freshman year.
Geoffrey W. Hands ’59 of Minneapolis passed away on June 25, 2009. Geoff came to Dartmouth from the Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania. He followed his father, H. William ’35, Tu’36, to Dartmouth and Tuck. Geoff earned an M.B.A.
