This column was due at the end of the College year of June 30. We’ll look back and summarize preliminary highlights of the year. We’ve written six of these columns, almost always stretching to find news of interest beyond just our class.

The class of 1958 attempted a full class meeting by Zoom on May 1. It was an attempt to include everybody, particularly those who find themselves more or less housebound and therefore unable to join in typical class meetings.

The awkward timing that called for Class Notes to be delivered before December month-end found us in Niwot, Colorado, away from computers and memory-refreshing notes of items worthy of publication. Those were sparse anyway, as usual!

January-February 2025

The class of 1958 had an active fall highlighted by its mini-reunion early in October. We celebrated the naming of Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field followed by the first Ivy home game against Penn that went our way.

The class of 1958 will be holding its fall mini-reunion during the first weekend in October. On that Saturday, October 5, during the football game versus Penn, the College will commemorate the Buddy Teevens Stadium at Memorial Field.

As our class shrinks, news of its comings and goings (too many of the latter) shrinks disproportionately. Since the last column we have received word of the following classmate deaths: Phalen G. Hurwitz, Peter J. Epstein, Cmdr.

The class’ 65th reunion, co-chaired by Hal Bernsen and Frank Gould with legion help from alumni relations’ Joe Piedrafite, director of alumni engagement, was put on during an eventful three days in early September.
