Frederick B. Bagnall ’58

Frederick B. Bagnall ’58 died December 31, 2023. Fred grew up in Providence, Rhode Island, and came to Dartmouth from Vermont Academy. He majored in economics, played hockey all four years, and was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Dragon. He served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy underwater demolition teams and was a Hawaii Ironman finisher and a ranked triathlete and duathlete. His career was in petroleum services contracting; he worked 20 years in Singapore, initially for a company he cofounded, then as Asia Pacific VP for Oceaneering International. Fred retired in Texas, where he was honored for mentoring at-risk elementary-age children. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and son Darren.
