Hugh Chapin was named the 2010 Trustee of the Year at Galloway Ridge, a retirement community that he helped found and develop in North Carolina. He is now an honorary member of the board of directors.

Economic times are tough, but Dartmouth has received a record number of applicants this year—21,700—a 15 percent increase compared to the last year.
Here we are living through what seems like the longest winter in history. Snow 60 inches here in New York. Cold that just won’t go away. The groundhog promised an early spring. So much for that tradition.
For this issue we have, as usual, good and bad news. The good news: On January 25 we received notice from the College that the class of 1941 does not need to pay class dues now or evermore!
Carole Davenport wrote that Dave died Christmas morning in Sarasota, Florida, at the Memory Center, where he had been living for the past two years.
I have just learned of two classmate deaths in late January: Morris Seligman and Robert Hall. Both were doctors.
