I got a lot of help for this column. His wife, Barbara, writes that Tom Tomasi passed recently at age 98. He downhill skied up to 86, played tennis and worked into his 90s. They bought the house of Nancy and Carl Reed. “Rusty” Rodriguez reports she attended the Dickey event our class sponsored on April 3. Doug and Meredith Smith were there also. Rusty says, “It was time well spent.” John Schalles reached his “century mark” March 1. “Okay so far, planning on a few nine-holers later in the spring if I can find a player who has a driver’s license,” he says. Jilly Harned plans to attend her granddaughter’s wedding this fall (the first grandchild of 12).

Hife wife, Adrianne, reports Mal Hill passed in February at age 97 in Atlanta. She keeps in touch with Joan McIlwain and Jilly Harned. Adrianne said Mal continued singing all his life, most recently in the Cathedral Choir of St. Paul in Atlanta. Mal and Adrianne met in a Gilbert & Sullivan group in New York known as The Blue Hill Troupe Ltd. John Caldwell reports, “I am pretty good except I keep losing my teeth.” Doctor Bob Wilkinson writes of the sad demise of Carolyn, his wife of 73 years. They had daughters Amy and “Monty” at Dartmouth. I received a nice note from Peter Johnson’s daughter Sigrid saying he turned 98 and is living in a senior residence in Ottawa. “He is continuing to winnow down his papers and enjoys spending time with his two toddler great-granddaughters. He sends his best regards from Canada. Terri and Bill “Carp” Carpenter are celebrating spring with the onset of many birds at their feeders and a flock of wild turkeys (a tom and four hens) and eight Canada geese. Bill was heading to Rochester, New York, to celebrate his joint birthday with grandchild Kelly. She was born on Bill’s 48th birthday and will be 48 to Carp’s 96.
