Zachary B. Kratochvil ’16

Zachary B. Kratochvil ’16 passed on April 23 in Medford, Massachusetts. Zach earned dual degrees at Dartmouth, an A.B. in engineering sciences with a minor in neuroscience and a B.E. in engineering. Anybody who’s worked through a problem set with Zach knows he was a constant problem solver. He performed research in multiple labs, starting as a research assistant at the Blumenfeld lab at Yale Medical School while in high school. At Dartmouth Zach worked in the quantum computing lab and multimodal neuroimaging lab. After graduation he completed a Dartmouth general fellowship at the Utrecht University Dutch Connectome Lab and an M.S. in data science at Tufts University. When not in the lab, Zach was active in the Dartmouth triathlon and frisbee teams and was passionate about social justice, equity, and destigmatizing mental illness. He is survived by his wife, Allison, sister Leah, and parents Nancy and Thomas.
