Wood M. DeYoe ’48
Wood M. DeYoe ’48 died at home in Ridgewood, New Jersey, on July 5. Woody was born on Oct 18, 1927, in Patterson, New Jersey. He graduated from Kent School in Connecticut, followed by an A.B. in zoology from Dartmouth, where he was a member of Storrs House/Delta Kappa Epsilon. He then earned a J.D. from Cornell Law School in 1952, did a stint in the U.S. Army in North Korea as a war crimes investigator in 1953 and returned to northern New Jersey to set up his practice as a trial attorney in 1955. He was also a judge of the municipal court of Franklin Lakes and Saddle River, New Jersey, for 12 years. Most recently, he was of counsel at Buglione, Hutton and DeYoe. Woody continued his interest in Dartmouth after graduation and was the original incorporator and president of the Dartmouth Club of Bergen Country. He was very active with the class of ’48, including responsibilities as vice president, president and longtime member of the executive committee and with various alumni fund activities and reunions. He was a member of the Arcola Country Club and an enthusiastic golfer throughout his life. Woody and his deceased wife, Margaret, are survived by four children and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
