William F. Brunson ’75
William F. Brunson ’75 died on February 25, 2022, in Sweden. Bill was born in Dallas and was an accomplished musician, composer, and artistic director. While a student and immediately after his graduation, Bill contributed a composition titled “Tapestry I” to a Thayer School project, which produced the Dartmouth Digital Synthesizer. In 1980 Bill moved to Sweden, where he was the artistic director of electronic music studio Fylkingen. He was a professor of electronic music and studio director at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm. His electronic music compositions have been widely performed and his awards include the Bourges International Electroacoustic Music Awards and National Endowment of the Arts. He had also worked for Swedish Radio, Swedish Television, and Royal Swedish Opera. He is survived by his wife, Britt Marie, and their two children.
