Victor E.D. King ’59
Victor E.D. King ’59 died on March 10. He entered Dartmouth from the Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey, majored in English, and was a member of Gamma Delta Chi. Following graduation he served for several years in the Navy and earned his law degree from Michigan in 1966. Victor then began a more than 40-year career practicing law, first with his father in the Plainfield, New Jersey, area. He served as counsel to the Plainfield, South Plainfield, and Watchung boards of education. He was a communicant of Grace Episcopal Church in Plainfield and served on its vestry and sang in its choir. He was active in alumni activities as an interviewer, Alumni Fund volunteer, and officer of the Dartmouth Club of Suburban New Jersey. Victor and his family enjoyed their summer home on Squam Lake in New Hampshire, and he was an avid biker, fly fisherman, and skier. He is survived by his wife, Hilary, children Alexander ’95 and Vanessa, and several stepchildren and stepgrandchildren.
