Thomas Patrick Tarazevits ’73

Thomas Patrick Tarazevits ’73 died on May 21, 2023. At the time of his death, Thomas was a resident of Costa Mesa, California. He came to Dartmouth from Southampton High School on Long Island, New York, where he received in 1968 the prestigious Newsday Carl A. Hansen Award for the most outstanding high school football player in Nassau and Suffolk counties. At the College Thomas lived in McLane Hall, majored in economics, and was a three-year defensive tackle on the varsity football teams in 1970, 1971, and 1972 that twice won outright and once shared the annual Ivy League championship. After graduation Thomas worked in the business world and was for a time employed by the Knox Co. in Newport Beach, California, that since 1975 has developed innovative rapid access card and key containers (“Knox Boxes”) that enable first responders to gain entry to commercial and residential properties while minimizing damage. Thomas is survived by his wife, Jeanne, and son Thomas.
