Thomas M. Tindall ’67
Thomas M. Tindall ’67 of Fort Myers, Florida, died on September 29, 2021, after a short illness. Tom came to the College from Wayne, New Jersey. He majored in religion and was a brother of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and a member of the Green Key Society. He earned a master of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in 1971 and taught at Phillips Academy Andover, Phillips Academy Exeter, and Governor’s Academy, where he was the school minister and coached varsity boys basketball. In 1983 Tom became the assistant headmaster, admissions director, college placement advisor, and basketball coach at the Master’s School in West Simsbury, Connecticut, where he remained for 22 years. With his wife of 54 years, Sally, Tom was involved in several ministries and volunteering, working with Habitat for Humanity, Samaritan’s Purse, and a trip to Senegal in 2009 to help with a children’s camp alongside his daughter and her family, who are missionaries there. Bill Calhoun ’67 wrote that he and Tom “were active all four years together at the United Church of Christ church, teaching Sunday school together, were in Sigma Alpha Epsilon together, spent a year together at Union Theological Seminary in N.Y.C., and have stayed in touch all these years. Tom wrote to me in February and August of this year, saying, ‘It astounds me the doors and windows that were opened and people who meant so much to me. I thank God for our meeting and getting to spend some precious time together.’ ” Tom is survived by Sally, son John, daughter Katie, and nine grandchildren.
