Updated on July 2, 2026

Ted Knudsen ’04

Knudsen helped create a free augmented reality app called Echoes of Revolution: NYC. The app allows visitors to stand at 10 sites in present-day Lower Manhattan and witness pivotal moments from the Revolution.

Knudsen is a visiting history professor at Queens College. He is pursuing a doctorate at CUNY Graduate Center, where his idea for a walking trail originated. To build and launch the app he partnered with Peter-Christian Aigner, director of the Gotham Center for New York City History, Ubisoft (creator of the Assassin’s Creed video games), and the Sugar Creative agency.
