Administrator elevated to secretary of education for Massachusetts

Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey appointed Stephen Zrike Jr. as the state’s secretary of education. He was sworn in on March 30. Zrike most recently served as superintendent for Salem Public Schools from 2020 to 2026. Prior to that, he led Holyoke and Wakefield Public Schools.
