Difficult History

WBZ News, a Boston affiliate of CBS News, interviewed Wrenn Corbin about her debut book, Raising Wrenns: A Memoir, which was published this January. Wrenn Corbin grew up in Worcester in the 80s and 90s.

“At that time in this particular neighborhood, Worcester was really plagued by poverty, homelessness, addiction issues, and violence,” she said.

Wrenn Corbin had lived in 15 different homes before she was 15 years of age. Her father was killed in a shooting and her brother died by suicide.

“I know a lot of people not just in Worcester, not just in Massachusetts, but everywhere face a lot of those similar challenges,” said Wrenn Corbin, who now lives in Duxbury. “It's a bit of a tough story but I hope a lot of people will find it to be inspirational.”
