Sean Peter O’Hearn ’86

Sean Peter O’Hearn ’86 of Tampa died unexpectedly on December 24, 2023, from a ruptured aortic aneurysm. Sean received his A.B. from Dartmouth and was involved with Glee Club, Gospel Choir, Black Undergrad Theater, art, dance, the Gay Students Association, and the National Theater Institute 12 College Exchange. Sean grew up in Alstead, New Hampshire, the oldest of seven children. He was a theater arts major and was in numerous plays and productions. He attended the Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute in Connecticut and the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre in Florida. Sean explored opportunities in the world of theater in New York City and Los Angeles and spent time in many summer theater productions around the country. In the 2000s Sean worked as a flight attendant for Southwest Airlines through the turbulence of 9/11 and traveled to many new places. Sean loved animals, especially his kittens, his LGBTQ+ community, travel, music, dance, reading, his Irish heritage, and the songs and productions of the world of movies and theater. Sean is survived by his six siblings, six nephews, and four nieces as well as two aunts and many cousins. You can remember Sean when you take a walk on the beach, appreciate a great movie, attend a play, listen to a meaningful song, love an animal, celebrate diversity, and embrace shared moments with people you love. Donations may be made to your local Humane Society in memory of Sean.
