Sam Wesley Cockrel ’67

Sam Wesley Cockrel ’67 died on July 17 in the presence of his family. Sam came to the College from Clarendon Hills, Illinois, and majored in Russian. After graduation he received an M.A. from Harvard in 1968 and an M.B.A. from Tuck in 1972. Sam spent several years working in banking in Florida before becoming a wine distributor, a career he truly loved. He was active in Dartmouth alumni affairs throughout his life after graduation. He is survived by his former spouse, Edith, daughter Jennifer, and son Warren.
