Roland M. Jermyn Jr. ’63

Roland M. Jermyn Jr. ’63 passed away on October 9, 2024, in Kingston, Pennsylvania. Roland was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and attended Manheim Township High School, where he participated in the yearbook, the newspaper, and glee club. At Dartmouth he majored in history and was active in the Athletic Council and Dartmouth Outing Club. He continued his education at the Stanford University School of Business and St. Edmunds Hall, University of Oxford. Roland began his career in insurance and real estate, later pursuing entrepreneurial ventures in healthcare, energy exploration, and technology. He was an accomplished pianist and poker player. He was an outdoor enthusiast, having had early positive experiences with Outward Bound. For much of his life, Roland lived on a farm in Peach Bottom, southern Lancaster County. He traveled extensively to San Francisco, New York, and Charleston, South Carolina, and spent much of the last 20 years living in Turku, Finland, with his wife, Terhi, who predeceased him. He is survived by two sons and three grandchildren.
