Robin Lang Carpenter ’66

Robin Lang Carpenter ’66 passed away at his home in Lebanon, New Hampshire, on October 4, 2023. Born in New York City, Robin graduated from Levittown Memorial High School. At Dartmouth he was a member of Alpha Theta, wrestled, and majored in economics. He remained active in regional Dartmouth clubs after graduation. Robin returned to complete his M.B.A. in 1977 at the Tuck School, where he was awarded the Walter Jacobs Memorial Prize and named an Edward Tuck Scholar. Robin began his career at the MAC Group Inc., a financial management consulting firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In 1987 he founded Carpenter Analytix, where he developed models and metrics for investment professionals. Robin married Teresa Merriman in 1991 and they raised daughter Abigail in Hanover, where he enjoyed cross-county skiing and tobogganing down his rolling lawn. Robin was also active in the community, serving on the Hanover Conservation Commission and Hanover and Dresden school boards. In 2016 Robin and Teresa moved to nearby Lebanon to spend their retirement years. Robin, after many years of sailing in Florida and Caribbean, continued his lifelong passion on his robin’s egg blue sloop on Vermont’s Lake Fairlee. To honor Robin’s memory, donations may be made to The Hand to Heart Project, https://handtoheartproject.org/make-a-donation.
