Robert Truman Perron ’59

Robert Truman Perron ’59 died on October 21, 2010, in Branford, Connecticut. While at Dartmouth Bob played in the band and was a member of the Human Rights Society and LaGragnier Francaise. He spent a memorable junior year in Paris at the time of the student and worker strikes and the establishment of De Gaulle’s Fifth Republic. He earned an M.F.A. in graphic design from Yale University in 1963 and became a noted architectural photographer. Later his stunning aerial photographs of the world’s coastlines and their changing patterns expressed both his environmental concerns and his artistry. He is survived by his daughter Sarah, a dancer in New York City; son Andrew, who graduated from Dartmouth Medical School in 1992 and is an emergency physician in Portland, Maine; five grandchildren; and his wife of 50 years, Diana, who writes, “He will be remembered for his dry and complicated sense of humor, his annual flute rendition of ‘Ode to Joy,’ his gusto on the dance floor and his generous gift of time and talent to environmental causes everywhere.”
