Robert Rolf Kugler ’67
Robert Rolf Kugler ’67 died at his home on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, on July 6 surrounded by his family, following a battle with a rare sarcoma. Rob came to the College from Cherry Hill, New Jersey; majored in history; was a member of the Glee Club for four years; and graduated cum laude. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1970. Rob’s life can be summarized as one of service to society and Dartmouth and devotion to family and friends. Rob served as class vice president since 1997 and was on the Alumni Council; co-led class reunions and coedited the 50th reunion yearbook; was the principal author of the class constitution; and helped construct the Class of 1967 Bunkhouse at Moosilauke and the Hood Museum’s A Space for Dialogue. He used his position as a lawyer to advance nonprofit causes, most notably the American Cancer Society, where he served on the national board. Rob is survived by his wife, Sandy; children Justin, Lindsay, and Kelley ’13; their partners June, Holali, and Ryan; grandchildren Imanie and Josiah; and brother John.
