Robert B. Harvey ’60

Robert B. Harvey ’60 of Dennis, Massachusetts, passed away December 6, 2013. He was born December 10, 1937, in Boston, the son of Earl and Agnes Harvey. Bob graduated from Belmont (Massachusetts) Hill School in 1956 and Dartmouth with a major in geography in 1960. At Dartmouth Bob played varsity hockey and was a strong contributor to the 1959 and 1960 Ivy League championship teams. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta/Phi Delta Alpha. Bob worked with his father’s business, E.B. Harvey & Associates, directly after graduation. He married Nancy-Page Perkins, also of Belmont, in 1961 and they started their lives in Northampton, Massachusetts, where Bob owned and operated Munson Auto Supply. He was active in the Holyoke Blades Hockey Club, the finance committee chair in Williamsburg, Massachusetts, and a New York State fishing guide. Bob was an avid hockey fan, lover of dogs, accomplished fisherman and a man who treasured his many friendships. When Bob sold his business in 1983 he and Nancy retired to Brewster, Massachusetts, and later Dennis. Bob lost Nancy in January 2013, and had recently moved to Freeport, Maine, with his daughter and her family. Surviving are children Todd, Kurt and Wendyll; daughters-in-law Miriam and Darci, son-in-law Alex, six grandchildren, brother Kenneth and cousin Andrea. A memorial service and celebration of Bob’s life was held January 18. Interment is planned in Dennis.
