Richard Wilson Hume ’57

Richard Wilson Hume ’57 passed away on December 2, 2013, after a long illness. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan, and later moved with his family to Lexington, Kentucky. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy before entering Dartmouth in the fall of 1953. After graduating from Dartmouth Dick received a master’s from Ohio State University, where he taught for three years. Staying in Columbus, Ohio, he next spent seven years as an editor for Merrill Publishing. He then spent the next 32 years in life insurance underwriting with Nationwide Insurance. Dick leaves his wife of 53 years, Carol, two sons, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
