Richard A. Lauchnor ’81

Richard A. Lauchnor ’81, loving husband of Deborah and son of Richard and Marilyn Lauchnor, passed away unexpectedly January 9 in Nashville. Rick was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, and graduated in 1977 from the Parkland High School, where he was a scholar-athlete lettering in baseball, basketball, and football. At Dartmouth he played football freshman year, excelling in a kicking role, pitched on the JV baseball team, went to Mexico for a language study abroad, and was a proud member of Theta Delta Chi. He graduated in 1981 with a degree in English. He is remembered for his kindheartedness and friendly demeanor. In 1987 he received his M.B.A. from New York University, followed by a career in finance for more than 35 years, retiring in 2018 from FTSE Russell. Rick was an avid runner, completing several marathons, including the New York City marathon. He always enjoyed traveling the world and collecting memorabilia, especially related to Dartmouth. More recently, he and his wife devoted themselves to country music concerts and festivals and their golden retrievers. Survivors include his wife and parents; brother Jaison and his wife, Rosanne; brother John and his wife, Karen; and nieces Alexandra, Morgan, Anna, and Brooke.
