Ricardo R. Lalonde ’04

Ricardo R. Lalonde ’04, originally from Galveston, Texas, died September 18, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Ricardo was well-traveled, as he spent time in Mexico, Tennessee, Quebec, New Hampshire, and Maine, yet he continued to think of himself as a Texan and returned home whenever possible to spend time with family. As an undergraduate Ricardo was involved in school activities, enjoyed spending time with a diverse group of friends, showed his Big Green spirit as a cheerleader, served as vice president of Alpha Theta, and graduated with a degree in anthropology. After graduation Ricardo enrolled in the University of Maine to fulfill his dream of becoming a mechanical engineer. He graduated in 2012 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering technology and a minor in engineering entrepreneurship and returned to Texas. He was dedicated to his work and relished his family and his role in their lives. He is remembered as an ever-warm, calm, patient, and kind individual. Ricardo is survived by his parents, Daniel and Mercedes Lalonde; brothers Josh and Christian; 2-year-old nephew Christopher; godmother Yolanda Ramirez; grandfather Daniel Lalonde Sr.; and grandmother Lucia Ramirez Mireles.
