Quang Dang ’19

Quang Dang ’19 passed away in March. Quang was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and raised in Dorchester, Massachusetts. A first-generation college student, he earned his A.B. in engineering and then his B.E. from Thayer School of Engineering. At Dartmouth Quang was deeply involved across campus life. He was a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon and a member of the Hill Winds Society and club baseball. Quang also worked closely with professors Doug Van Citters and Sol Diamond to coordinate the “pandemic version” of ENGS 89/90: Engineering Design Methodology and Project Initiation and Completion in 2020-21, ensuring students could complete their capstone experience during remote learning. A Vox crew member and finisher of “The Fifty,” the annual hike from Moosilauke to Robinson Hall, Quang impacted the Dartmouth community on campus and in the outdoors. His friends celebrate their memories of a kind and thoughtful person and a generous leader. Quang is survived by his parents, Bich Dang and Yen Nga Ho, and sister Thienan ’16. He will be remembered with deep affection by his friends, classmates, and the communities he touched.
