Phillip Harding Taylor ’63

Phillip Harding Taylor ’63, M.D., died December 23, 2023. He was born in Elkins, New Hampshire, on January 12, 1940, and his last address was in Eagle, Colorado. For two years Phil attended the U.S. Naval Academy, where he was on the crew team that just missed making it to the Olympics in his sophomore year. He went on to Dartmouth, graduating with an A.B. in English and in 1964 a bachelor’s in medical science. Phil then earned his M.D. at Harvard in 1966 and a J.D. at the University of Miami in 1968. Phil’s working life was varied. He was a medical doctor and surgeon, a lawyer specializing in malpractice, and a real estate developer and owned a small private airline with which he piloted customers on tours of the Grand Canyon. He lived in many places: New Hampshire, California, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Ohio, Nevada, Florida, and Colorado. Phil was married several times and had nine children.
