Peter Valentine Teal ’55

Peter Valentine Teal ’55, M.D., passed away on February 8. Peter came to Hanover from Omaha, Nebraska. He was a premed student who majored in chemistry and biology. He was a member of the Ledyard Canoe Club, Theta Delta Chi, Dartmouth Christian Union and Air Force ROTC. After graduation he earned his M.D. at Harvard Medical School. An accomplished orthopedic surgeon, Peter was twice chief of staff at St. Vincent hospital in Billings, Montana. He also practiced at the Shriners Hospitals for Children, the Indian Health Service, and the Veterans Administration. He is survived by his wife, Annie; children Pete, Cynthia, Mallory, Emily; and stepchildren Seth, Mijanou, and Theo.
