Peter B.J. Stien ’51

Peter B.J. Stien ’51 died in Naples, Florida, on November 30, 2023. He had served as president of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Naples and earlier as an officer of the Boston alumni club. Golf was a lifelong passion of Pete’s. He captained the Dartmouth team as an undergraduate. The son of a golf professional, he was remembered for having tied his father in a tournament, with both recording eagles on the deciding hole. Pete also played on the varsity hockey team at Dartmouth and was a member of Delta Tau Delta and Dragon. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps; he saw combat as the captain of a tank unit in Korea. He spent his working career as a sales and advertising executive with McGraw Hill in Boston and Naples. He served in numerous leadership positions at the Country Club of Naples and was active in several yacht clubs and ski communities.
