Paul A. Stumpf ’54

Paul A. Stumpf ’54 passed away on March 18 in Farmington, Connecticut. Paul came to Dartmouth from Avon, Connecticut. He graduated from Mount Hermon School. At Dartmouth he was an economics major and a brother of Alpha Theta. Paul was a member of the Outing Club, Cabin & Trail, and the Air Force ROTC. After graduation he served in the U.S. Air Force at Homestead Air Force Base, where he earned his wings as a single-engine jet pilot. After discharge he moved to Hartford, Connecticut, where he began his career in industrial sales. In 1970 he became Northeast regional sales manager for Wilson Instrument Division, American Chain & Cable. Paul spent his entire career in manufacturing sales and service, specializing in quality-control equipment. He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and sons Paul, William, and Peter.
