Paul Rosenberg ’52

Paul Rosenberg ’52 passed away on July 11 in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Paul was born on December 5, 1930, in Scranton and graduated from Scranton Central High School in 1948. Paul received an academic scholarship to Dartmouth, graduating in 1952 with a major in biology. He was a member of Pi Lambda Phi and was an active and proud alumnus for many years. Paul became part of the Kaplan Furniture Co., where he eventually became president. Kaplan Furniture closed in 1995 when Paul retired. Paul was an avid athlete his entire life, and he was a member of Glen Oak Country Club for 61 years. At Glen Oak he held several positions, including golf chairman and president of the club. Paul was also an active member of Temple Israel and the Jewish Community Center and served on the boards of several religious and local institutions. He was on the board of the local branch of Northeastern National Bank, which eventually became PNC Bank. In 2004 Paul was diagnosed with colorectal cancer, which he survived—and invented a cleansing product, Osti-Klenz, which changed his life and those of many others suffering from the consequences of the same disease. In addition to Margery, his wife of 66 years, Paul is survived by children Robert and Jane and their spouses, four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
