Joseph F. Conley ’57 died in Orinda, California, on July 23, 2025. Joe came to Dartmouth from Acalanes High School in Lafayette, California. He majored in geography, participated in WDCR radio station, and was in Sigma Nu (marshal, sentinel, rush committee), the Dartmouth Outing Club, and the Rowing Club (rowing crew for one year). Joe returned to his hometown of Orinda for a long, successful career in the real estate business. He traveled widely in his camper van. A trip across the country included attending a ’57 mini-reunion on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Joe was a proud member of his class, serving as vice president (2002-12) and newsletter editor (2004). He provided support to the College as Alumni Fund participation agent (2003-04), leadership agent on the reunion giving committee (2006-07), and leadership agent (2007-13). He was also active as an admissions interviewer. He is survived by Deborah, his significant other; and children Carolyn, Kathleen, and Michael.
