Timothy Cheney Jameison ’52

Timothy Cheney Jameison ’52 of Easley, South Carolina, passed away October 22, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Tim was born on December 30, 1930, in New York City and lived in White Plains, New York. He graduated from the Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York, where he excelled academically and in sports. He then earned his bachelor’s in English from Dartmouth, where he was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa and Dartmouth Outing Club. Tim then spent two years as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps before joining McGraw Hill Publishing in New York City, where he worked for 27 years. He then moved to Vero Beach, Florida, where he founded Jameison Publishing Co. and printed The Indian River County Medical Guide, Senior Services Guide, Senior Bulletin Board, and the Recreation Guide. He later sold and retired from his company and moved to upstate South Carolina. During his time in Florida he enjoyed volunteering for the Mental Health Association in Vero Beach. Tim and his wife, Sally, were married in 1952 while he was in the Marine Corps. She survives him, as do daughters Linda and Kathleen, son Harold “Hal,” sister Frances, great-grandchildren Sydney and Jackson, and their parents, James and Karen. Tim’s brother, William ’51, predeceased him earlier in 2018.
