Bob was born August 7, 1938, in Detroit, the son of Edward Wangbichler and Esther Purkiss. He earned his undergraduate degree at Dartmouth and his graduate degree at Wayne State University. He spent his entire career at the Budd Co., in Troy, Michigan, and retired as executive vice president. He was a consummate handyman who could build and fix anything. He was also an avid runner, enjoying daily runs along the beach of Lake Michigan and through the roads of his Pierport neighborhood. He enjoyed all sports, but cheered the hardest for his favorite team, the Michigan State Spartans. He enjoyed many sunsets at his beloved tiki bar on the beach with his friends and family. He is missed by many. A year after graduation, on July 8, 1961, in Redford Township, Michigan, Bob married Alice, who predeceased him. On July 22, 2017, at Arcadia Bluffs, Michigan, he married Cyndy, who survives him. He is also survived by children Kristin, Eric, and Matthew and grandchildren Corinne and Nathan.
