Carol R. Spodobalski ’73

Carol R. Spodobalski ’73 died unexpectedly on February 18, 2017, in Philadelphia of complications following surgery for cancer. Carol was an adopted member of our class, having attended Dartmouth during the 1971-72 academic year as an exchange student from Mount Holyoke College, where she was a member of the class of 1973. She was a native of Philadelphia and graduated from Eden Hall Academy of the Sacred Heart in Torresdale, Pennsylvania. Carol majored in French and studied for a term in 1972 at the Université de Strasbourg. Following graduation from Mount Holyoke, she began a career in marketing and corporate communications in the Philadelphia area. During the past 20 years Carol worked as an associate creative director for MNBA, director of communications for Prudential, senior lead web editor for the Educational Testing Service, and more recently as a media communications consultant for AmeriHealth Administrators and Thomas Jefferson Hospital. Carol created a wide online network as a content strategist and editor where she shared her love of gardens, cooking, wine, tea, and travel. Even before she was adopted in 2017 as a member of the Dartmouth class of 1973, Carol supported the Dartmouth College Fund as a friend of the College. She is survived by two sisters and a brother.
