Roland Taylor Addis Jr. ’54

Roland Taylor Addis Jr. ’54 passed away on January 5 in West Orange, New Jersey. “Bud” was a longtime resident of Essex Fells, New Jersey. He came to Dartmouth from Devon, Pennsylvania, where he attended the Episcopal Academy. At Dartmouth Bud was a sociology major and a brother of Beta Theta Pi. He earned All-American honors as a member of the soccer team and competed on the squash team, which was ranked second in the nation. After serving in the U.S. Army, Bud joined Howard Savings Bank in New Jersey, retiring in 1991, after 38 years, as a vice president. He was active in his community, serving as a vestryman at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, town councilman and president of the Fells Brook Club. Bud is survived by his wife, Marie, and sons Andy, David ’86 and Michael ’89.
